Eyeliner: use on the upper lid for a smokey eye, and lower for classic look. Apply a classic black or a shimmery silver for flare.
Eyeshadow: use a color that enhances your eyes. For a blue- use earth colors like bronze or peach. For a green- use colors like gold or silver to bring out the color. For a hazel- warm oranges and browns are your color to bring out the eye. For brown- use a purple or silver to lighten up the features.
Mascara: use only on your upper lashes, lower is over-doing it. Apply bottom (lash) up.
Tips: use a clear mascara to avoid clumping. For your lips, tone down for heavy eye. To make eyes softer, use only one shade, no mascara, and no eyeliner.
hope this helps
Welcome aboard. The best way to learn would be to look at some of the tutorials on you tube. Put in how to do eyeshadow,
or eyeshadow, smokey eye, etc in the search engine. You will learn a lot. Good Luck ;-)

It doesn't sound like a stupid question, it it a stupid question.
This will be a very long answer, because i'm going to answer your question (which btw; there's no such thing as a stupid question)
There are some universal rules for eye make-up.
*Always do it in the light you plan to be in all day
*For a dramatic look (usually for night) use darker colors (black mascara, black eyeliner, darker eye shadows)
*For the day, try more browns and lighter colors.
(For light people, pinks usually look good;for tan, oranges and golds usually look good; and for a dark complexion, plum's and golds look good)
*Basically, start with eyeliner on the bottom and top of the eye, not going all the way around, but the outside half (this will give you a nice wide eye look)
then apply your mascara (usually dark brown or black) and start at the base of the lash and swipe upward.
remember to de-clump using a small brow and lash brush afterwards.
for eyeshadow, start with the darkest color closest to the lash line, then as you work your way up, lighten the tone of the eyeshadow. Shimmer powder near your brows will also make your eyes glow.
**As a personal touch, i take shimmery white eyeshadow and put a little where my eye starts, near the nose.
To curl your lashes try a heated lash curler, by pressing it against the end of your lashes and holding down for a few seconds (it shouldn't take long)
Hope that helps you :D
well, if ur just now starting 2 wear makeup, then u should just put on a little bit of eyeliner and mascara, then after u have been wearing makeup 4 a while just do what u think looks good! and by the way, that's not a stupid question, and the first answer was really rude, she probably asked the same question when she first started wearing makeup!
